After various professional experiences, we wanted to change our lives. Live in the countryside, create an Estate where people would meet to practice their favorite hobby, take courses, or simply recharge their batteries.
In 2019, we renovated this old holiday camp, nestled in the heart of the Parc du Haut Languedoc. It has everything we were looking for: peace, quiet, nature, trees, 2 streams, 1 spring! Alain made his beekeeping dream come true with the installation of his apiary and honey house , while Anne-So' gave life to a Yoga Room.
At Cabanes d'Hestia we want more than just a place to stay, but for it to be a nourishing adventure for you, a reconnection with yourself. A ""forest break"" designed to bring you back to the essentials, to the very heart of your deep nature.
To ensure peace and quiet for all, with us, cars stay in the parking lot, 200mts from the cabins . In this spirit, wifi is accessible at the "Préau", and in the cabins, no microwave (but an oven), no television, no Wi-Fi. Here, you can listen to the stars and watch the flowers grow. ✨
The Cabanes apiary : Alain "the Happy-culteur", raises his apiary on the estate. You can walk nearby and discover the beautiful activity of the bees. And treat yourself to a pot of honey, made in La Salvetat to take home with you, and prolong your memories of your stay at the Cabanes!
The chestnut grove: this year, we are rehabilitating the old chestnut grove of the cabins!!! We will introduce you to our first production of chestnut cream made in La Salvetat!
The chicken coop : the chickens also have their cabin in the forest! You can buy their eggs, your selective sorting feeds them healthily...
Donald and Daysie: the Indian Runner Duck couple. You will watch them happily splashing around in their pond, a real joy! Some summers, they offer us a litter and then it's a festival! They are beautiful to see parading in single file to take a dip or nibble on a few slugs.
We live among the animals of the forest: from the smallest to the largest they are present! Will you be lucky enough, at sunrise, to see this deer drinking from the stream, to come across these squirrels thieving nuts, or even at the time when the world falls asleep, will you hear the tawny owl, announcing that it reigns over the night? Otters, martens, minks, wild cats, salamanders... They all pass through our domain...
Some summer evenings, the Milky Way shines brightly... Free from light pollution, from your terrace, immerse yourself in this starry sky... Under the moonlight, you will see the Big and Little Bear, Orion and all his companions!
We want to defend a certain " eco-responsibility ", a green tourism sensitized, for a sustainable and responsible approach. An experience where you will feed our chickens with your food waste, separating the peelings for compost and the rest for selective sorting . Our convictions align perfectly with the values of the Park!
From the very first steps of the Cabanes, this philosophy has been at the heart of our work. We have called upon local companies, favored noble materials for our trays, environmental paints, second-hand decorative objects...
Here we only use natural products for the maintenance of the cabins.
The forest welcomes us with open arms, and in return, we commit to protecting it with love! ♻️
